Current Volunteers = Future Donors AND Past Donors = Current Volunteers

HandsIs your nonprofit organization exceeding volunteer and donor expectations? It is important to know if your volunteers and donors are satisfied, because if current volunteers are satisfied, they are likely to become future donors, and if past donors are satisfied, they are likely to become current volunteers.

By creating a good experience for your volunteers, you will have volunteers who are not only willing, but who want to donate to your organization. The same is true for your donors. If your past donors are unable to give currently, but have had a good relationship with your organization, they will be willing to volunteer.

The best way to find out if your volunteers and donors are satisfied is by conducting research. A community survey will show you how many people are interested in volunteering, how to attract donors, and how to share volunteer opportunities with the community. This survey will help your organization understand the ideas and concerns of the community, and how to improve communication with them.

A donor survey will guide your nonprofit in understanding donors' opinions and their satisfaction with your organization, as well as give you insight as to why past donors have stopped giving and if they would be interested in volunteering. This survey will help your organization learn how to communicate and build better relationships with your donors.

After you have gathered the necessary research, your nonprofit organization will be able to effectively communicate and build a stronger relationship with your volunteers and donors, which will result in a solid volunteer and donor base.

Remember to continually listen to what your donors and volunteers are saying, and to keep them informed and interested in your organization. Constantly remind them how important they are to your nonprofit, and show them how their contribution of time and/or money is making a difference. By exceeding donor and volunteer expectations, your nonprofit will succeed.
